Halfway!!!

I am halfway there! I can't believe it.
I will say though, if this is what I look like at halfway I am scared of how big I am going to be at the end of this whole thing.
So far so good. The doctor did say that the babies are nice and healthy and the size that they need to be at this point. So that is great.
Mom has high blood pressure and might be put on bed rest here soon, but we will see what we find out in the next week or so.

Clothes!

It has been three days since we found out we are having girls, and look . . .
They have all been purchased by their two Grandmas. I think that they can't wait to see their two little twin grand babies. (and dress them) What do you think?

It is a girl, and another girl!

The morning started like any other. I woke up, upset that the morning had come too fast and that the night was not long or restful enough. I got ready for work, telling myself "don't worry too much about doing your hair today. Your pregnant and tired. It's not a big deal." I feel like I tell myself that everyday now. About the time I was putting on eye liner it hit me. I felt sick to my stomach with worry. Today was Monday! The day that I have been counting down for the last four weeks. The day of my 18 week ultrasound appointment. The day I am going to find out if I am having boys, girls, or one of each. The ultrasound that most problems are found. The point of my pregnancy where everything changes. I could my hear and feel my heart beat faster and harder. I just had to make it to 1:00pm today at work and then off the doctor. I could do that. Maybe?

Work was hard. I felt worried all morning. I couldn't eat, which made me sick and light headed. I ate an orange, which I didn't keep down. I ate some crackers which got stuck in my throat. Everyone was telling me not to worry. Everything was going to be ok. But I still worried. What if there is a problem? What if they are not healthy. What if one is bigger then the other (which happens with twins, a lot, and will be a big problem) What if? Finally it was 1:00 and I could go. Again, my heart started beating even harder. My chest was really starting to hurt.

Cory and I met my Mom at the Obgyn. They told me my blood pressure was high, which I told them was because I was so nervous. I could not stop worrying about my babies. When the doctor came in I was already on the table and ready to get this going. I can't remember what questions he was asking me and I didn't care. I'll I wanted to hear was "they look healthy".

"Do you want to know the sex?"
"Yes, Please!"

One at a time he focused on each baby. "Looks like this one is a girl" He stopped the ultrasound to show us what he looked for that made that baby a girl (because we don't know!) That's great I thought, can we move to the next one now! "and looks like this one is a girl too"

Two girls, I was happy. Believe me, I was, but all I wanted to hear was that they were healthy. At that point he hadn't say those words so I started probing. "Do they look ok? Are they the right size? Do you see any thing bad?"

"Everything looks good"

I felt all my worry and sickness leave me. I felt so much better. I finally felt like I woke up and could start that day. I felt the feeling return to my body, and oh my, I needed to pee. Wait, did he say Two Girls?

I am having two girls?

What did the dogs destroy now?

Last night before Cory and I put the dogs out for the evening we had a large bag of pine shreds sitting on the ground outside in the backyard. Cory said we should pick it up and put it on the table outside or it would be all over the back yard by the morning. So we picked it up. The next morning we discovered it did not matter that we put it up on the table, they got it anyway. . . . . .

When we asked who did this, Tank shrank against the wall because he knew he should not have done this. He knows that he is in trouble!!!

"I'm sorry."

16 weeks!

It's been a while since my last post and so much has happened since that time. I think the last time I blogged was right before I hit 13 weeks. I did at that time take a picture of my belly. It is the first and last time I will be showing the world my belly uncovered. (You know, before I started looking like a big fat pregnant women) At that time I just had a cute baby bump.

See how cute! (Ok world that's all you get for the uncovered skin.)

A few days after that Cory and I went to my Obgyn and got our next ultrasound. Both the twins are doing great and are healthy and happy. Great news for a worried mom.

I know they are hard to see, but if you can make it out, this is Baby B. That day Baby B was far back in my uterus so it's even harder to make out. Baby B's head can be seen facing left. Above the head again to the left is Baby A. It just looks like a circle.

This is Baby A and he/she was much easier to see. You can see the head and the body. If you look at the head you can see the eye, the nose, the mouth, and the ear. Down where the legs end Baby A is pushing his/her legs into the placenta. It is that clump of material that is being pushed up against the uterus wall. At this point the doctor only sees one placenta, but he did say that it could be two placentas pushed up together. So still no answer to wheather they are identical or fraternal.

Baby A on the bottom (you can see the hand) Baby B on top (and yes that is his/her butt)

Which leads us to today. Today I am 16 weeks! Yeah!

Belly finally sticks out farther then the boobs, and now I finally look pregnant not just fat.

We are supposed to find out what the sexes are in a week and a half. So everyone give me their guesses now. I can't wait!!!

Christmas

I know that it is almost two weeks after Christmas and I should have blogged about this a long time ago but, well, I'm pregnant! I not feeling good all the time, and when I get home all I want to do is sleep. So, better late than never.

This Christmas was the best and worst Christmas of my life. Confused? Let me explain . . .
First of all, Cory and I woke up early in the morning to go over to Cory's mom's house for their gift exchange and Christmas breakfast. While I was getting ready my face and the toilet met a couple of times. Not a big deal, that happens.
When we got there the food looked great, it smelled great, and there was so much of it! I however could only eat a beagle because my stomach was acting up again. Cory's mom's toilet and I met a couple times too. The gift exchange was so great. The presents this year were so sweet and funny. We laughed until we cried a lot! Before we left, I went to say good bye to the bathroom one more time.
When we got to my mom's house everyone was up and waiting for us. This year the presents were smaller but so much more meaningful. Every gift was bought with that person in mind and we tried to stay away from cash or gift cads. It was so enjoyable to watch everyone open a gift instead of money. I loved it.
This is what Cory and I got!

OK, so it was not all we got, but in almost everything we opened there was some kind of baby thing in there with it. As we opened more presents we would say, "I wonder what it is? Could it be diapers?" I loved it. I worry all the time that we are not going to have enough of everything we need by the time the babies come. We have nothing because we have never had a baby before and now we need two of everything. So, getting this kind of stuff was great.
Toward the end I started not feeling well again, and so I had a short meeting with my mom's toilet too.
Cory did have a big surprise for me. He got me a diamond necklace. I had no clue he had got this for me either.

He said it was going to be the last real Christmas we were going to have with just each other so he wanted to get me something nice.
We then left my mom's house and came home. I spent much of the rest of the day either in the bathroom or in bed, but the day was great. I felt so loved by all my family and my husband. I can't wait until next year when I will have two little 6 month old babies crawling around everywhere enjoying this amazing holiday with us.
Best Christmas ever! Until next year!

Food Cravings

I don't understand it myself, but, wow, we women who are having babies have some of the weirdest food cravings. These four items I can eat at anytime : Ramon, Cheetos, Peanut Butter, and my fav, Gummy Snacks!!!
Most of my cravings are weird for me because I don't normally like it. Example: ketchup. I have not liked ketchup since I was seven years old and learned what french fries taste like in ranch. I hate ketchup!, and now . . . . . well, I think I have already eaten a whole bottle of it.
Anytime Cory asks me what I want for dinner and I have a craving that I tell him, he looks at me with one eye raised, and says "Where did that come from?" My response is always the same: "Da babies"
Right now at this very moment chips and salsa, and peppermint gum(I know that not food) sound like heaven. I think that maybe I have such weird combos because each baby is sending a different craving. Maybe that is just normal. What do you think?
