The morning after . . .

After the girl's party yesterday we got up and instead of making the girls a healthy breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, or eggs, we let them have birthday cupcakes!

They loved that idea too!

Pepper and Izzy's First Birthday!

Oh my! I can't believe this moment has come. The girls are one!

For the girl's birthday this year we did a very small and simple party. We only invited a few close family members and even though our list was short it felt like our house was overflowing with people and love for these sweet little girls. We served pizza (Izzy's favorite) and had lots of sides and way too many pink cupcakes!
I had tried to be very stick about one thing: No sugar until their first birthday! And although I know a family member or two tried to sneak them a taste, for the most part, they didn't have any sugar until that plate of ice cream and birthday cupcake was laid in front of them!

Thank you everyone who helped me put together this party. It turned out wonderful and I was truly able to sit back and enjoy my baby girls on this day and not worry about ice, cups, or if the salad needed refilling. Today was all about my Izzy and my Pepper. We have been so blessed to have these two beautiful girls and can't wait for whatever comes next.

Father's Day Breakfast

For Father's day this year we went out to breakfast at ihop on Saturday. Cory wanted to go out for Father's day and Sundays are crazy busy and really just not a good day for us to go out, so Saturday morning we packed up the girls and headed to ihop.
Oh, the commits we got!
The girls were really good and we were able to have a nice breakfast as a family. Cory was so cute to watch as he milked his "Father's day" love from the girls. They really do love their daddy!
Who can blame them though! Cory is such a great daddy. He loves it when he comes home from work and the girls hear him come through the door. They drop whatever they are doing and head straight for daddy. They slap their hands on the ground because they are crawling so fast to get to him and when they finally get there they sit with their arms straight up in the air waiting for him to pick them both up and give them big hugs. Although they are starting to get too big to hold at the same time he still manages to pick them both up and hold them tight. Cory sure loves his girls and they love him right back.
Happy Father's day, Cory!

Cheerio oh cheerio, where art thou?

I can't help myself, I just think that everything these cute little girls do is so funny and cute. They crack me up all day whether they are trying to be funny or it just happens.
Most mornings we start the day with some milk to drink some fruit and, like always, the cheerios. They love their Cheerios!
Today Izzy decided it would be funny to wear one on her face and leave it there the whole morning. No seriously! If I had not taken it off myself she might still be wearing this Cheerio on her face. She just kept eating and eating not having a clue why mom was taking pictures of her .
I love you Izzy.

My Girls, the Models.

So, my girls have this awesome gig with a friend that lives around the corner. From time to time she needs models to model cute little baby clothes and so my girls have become famous models. Can you blame them?

Ya, me neither!

Infant lap sit at the library

This summer the girls and I have taken full advantage of the library and it's free programs they offer. At the Red Mountain library they have "toddler time" and at the Main library they have "infant lap sit". Every week in June we have been at both branches and the girls have had the time of their life's.
We sing songs and read books, and play games. The girls can play with other kids their age and I can visit with other moms. There is even a mom at one of the groups that also has twins and we have swapped stories and advice. They have arts and craft time and at one of them they have a big parachute. the girls love it.
Some moms even bring their tiny little ones, which Pepper is always happy to point out that there is a baby.
Izzy has learned how to point. She points at the kids and points at the toys and points where she wants to go. She was pointing at my phone when I took this picture but then a little girl started laughing and she turned and took off to go play again.
For the most part they loved playing with their strollers. In the big room they have set aside for toddler time, they can push them all over and they also like playing with the straps. Sometimes I have to fold up and put them away or they won't join the group and play.
They have puzzles and Pepper had a blast trying to "help" this little boy figure out how to put it together. He kept saying "no baby" to her and trying to get her to leave him alone. (I have decided every kid needs a twin)
Izzy played on this thing for an hour!
She didn't want to stop.
and she kept going . . .
and going . . .
and going!
Finally, she found the books!
Both the girls loved grabbing a book and bringing it to me to read. They only let me read half of the first page though and then they were off to find a different book.
Love that we found this fun, out of the heat, summer activity for us to do this summer. More then anything, I love that my girls even at this young age, love going to the library. Hopefully, I can teach my girls to have a love for reading and books, but for now I think this is a great start.

One full day!

Good morning! How are you today? Today I would like to walk you through a typical day in the life's of Pepper and Izzy.

First thing in the morning is breakfast. Breakfast always comes first, even before taking care of that bed head.
Then, we get ready for the day! Don't forget the accessories!
They are a must when you are as cute as these two!

Then it is time to play with our toys, make a huge mess for mom to clean up, and have a snack. (which you must also make a mess with)

Now it is time to run errands. This is a very important time to look extra cute. The goal is to brake our last record of how many people will stop to say something. So far, the record is 33 people at Costco in these outfits.
I know! How could you not stop to tell us how cute we are?

Now it is time for some afternoon fun.
Sometimes we play dress up with Grandpa. He loves to were pretty jewelry with us.
Or we go to the splash pad at San Tan Market and play in the water.
Whatever it is, always end it with an afternoon snack.
The more it gets all over the place, the better it will taste.

After all that afternoon fun, it is time for a nap. (take it wherever you can get it)

At dinner time find a way to put your feet up and relax.

And before you go to bed don't forget to snuggle with the people you love most.

I just love everyday with these little girls!
