Play Date with Juslee

Pepper, Juslee, and Izzy

What fun! We had a play date with Juslee and went swimming. A friend of Juslee's mom has this really nice pool with a area in it where the babies could sit and stand. They had a blast playing in the water and playing with Juslee, and I got some much needed relaxing time!

Izzy! Love the hair. She was momma's shadow today. She wanted to be held the whole time. Of course she also wanted to play in the water, which meant I had to be with her in the water low enough to hold her and to let her play. Izzy the princess! What am I going to do with you?

Pepper! I love this picture because you can really see how blue her eyes are. She wanted to go off on her own and for the most part she could play with me just keeping a close eye on her. She did lose her balance at one point, and fell backwards into the water, but after a quick hug from mom she was off again.

We can't wait for the next play date with Juslee!

and Izzy can't wait for more of Juslee's treats!

Arizona Rain

For those of you that don't live in Arizona let me explain Arizona Rain. First of all, we don't get much of it. I think the record is 117 days without rain. And when we do get it, it comes in fast, pours hard and then leaves. If you get rained on for more then an hour, consider yourself rare.

On this day, the girls and I were playing outside. There were some clouds in the air which made being outside where the sun beats down on you, bearable. I had a blanket out on the grass and we were playing with twigs and eating grass and all the sudden and burst of wind can through and the clouds shifted. Being a pure blood "zonie" I knew what this meant and started picking up our stuff.
I barely got the blanket in the house before it started pouring, and our afternoon of playing outside and eating grass turned into an afternoon of watching the rain. Pepper was the brave one that went out on the porch to look closer, and Izzy was just fine with staying inside and watching from the doorway. It rained for about 45 minutes and then stopped just as fast as it started.
The whole time I kept wondering what the girls were thinking about. They weren't upset or afraid, nor did they act happy or excited. They just watched it rain. What a beautiful wonder rain is.

Grandpa's "updated" Train Ride

It is funny to watch my dad with these girls. He is just so in love with them. He begs me to bring them over, and will rearrange his schedule, or drop what he is doing if I need someone to watch them. One of the activities that he and the girls enjoy doing together is going for walks. Sometimes he takes them for a quick walk in the back yard and sometimes they go for a walk around the block.
My friends that live in the same neighborhood as my parents, all tell me that they have seen him walking up and down the streets with these girls. They are all wearing big grins and having a blast.
They look at the plants and trees and because my dad has gone up and down all the streets he knows the best streets to walk down with the most flowers and plant life for them to see and in some cases, touch.
He said that a few times people who have driven by have stopped in their cars and talked with him. They ask all the "twin" questions and say how cute they are and then drive on. Grandpa loves it and loves being Grandpa. Sometimes I wonder who really is having more fun.

Cold Stone Creamery, You Know!

So, the other day my family and us went to Cold Stone together and got some ice cream. No big deal, but I couldn't help myself from taking tons of pictures because the girls were just being so cute! So this is just a wall of photos. Enjoy!

Izzy (what are you doing mom?)
Oh, I want some of that.
I got my fingers in it!
Pepper, having the time of her life (with a straw)
Oh, I want some of that.
 She tried.
Everyone sitting around enjoying ice cream (even Kaylee)
 Izzy and Grandpa Keith
 Pepper is dancing with Jordan
This is the right end, right?
Finally, mom shared some of her (sugar-free) ice cream!

Why can't I help myself from taking so many pictures of them.
Oh, well!

Ten months

Look who is ten months!
When they turned ten months it really hit me that they are going to be turning a year in just two months. I can't believe this time has flown by so fast. I have really loved these last two months. Being a mom to twins has finally really become fun. They are turning into toddlers which is both exciting and terrifying.

Pepper
Oh, my funny Pep! She really is a hoot. Lately she has been blowing raspberries like crazy and if you start first she will mimic you. It is really funny when she starts during a prayer or when everything is really quiet. She has also started to sing. Whenever we are in a large group and we sing happy birthday or at church and we sing a hymn she will start making little sing song noises. Even after the song is done she will just continue to "la la la" to herself.
Her favorite thing is still to eat and she is big on the feeding herself. So I have started to give them "real" food. I call it human food and then Cory always points out that baby food is also human food. "Babies are small humans" Thanks Honey! I think her favorite is hot dogs. I have to give her small bites one at a time or she will put five in her mouth all at the same time! Crazy girl!

Izzy
Izzy is my little "get-into-er". I will get her out of her crib and set her down on the floor and she is off. Most days she heads straight to mom and dad's room to get into all the dresser drawers. She loves to pull every piece of clothing we have out and then she moves onto the next one. For the most part I just let her do it. First of all, I know she is just learning and exploring. I want her to feel like she can play with things and try things out (as long as they are safe) so she grows up thinking learning is fun. And for another thing, if I try to stop her or put the clothes back into the drawers, she will just keep trying to pull it all out again. Why fight the cuteness?
Izzy has also learned to really love eating and for the most part she will eat anything I give her. However, she loves to be fed, not feed herself. She is the princess. "Please spoon that hot dog into my mouth. My hands are much to delicate to lift." Oh, I love her and her silliness.

I am so lucky to have some of the cutest little girls. They are happy and bring so much love and joy to our life's.

Plus . . . .

they make me laugh!

Bath Time!

My girls love their bath. In fact, Cory and I love bath time too! It is the start of the wind down for each evening. Sometimes we will count down the minutes until bath time. If the girls have had a bad day, bath time cheers them up. If they have had a good day, we get lots of giggles in the bath. But no matter how the day went, bath time is happy time!
Sometimes they like to splash and drop things in the water. Sometimes they like to eat all the toys and rags they find in the bath. Sometimes they like to crawl and bounce around in the water. Sometimes they will just sit and watch the other play. No matter what, they love it when it's bath time!

Our new Friend Juslee and the Zoo!

 Meet Juslee.
She is the girls' new best friend. We met at Applebee's and found out that they were new to the area and I offered up a play date and we have been meeting once a week to play ever since. They play very well together and I am sure look forward to seeing their friend as much I look forward to seeing her mom and having adult mommy time. Although she is two months younger then my girls they are the same size and everything. When we go anywhere together it looks like triplets. (and I thought I got stopped a lot with twins!)

One week we went to the zoo and had a blast. We saw all kids of animals although, I wasn't smart enough to take any pictures of the animals! (I guess we are going to have to go back) But Juslee's mom took a few of our girls.
This is Juslee with her new hat. She is just so cute!
Izzy! She fell asleep pretty quickly but we did manage to get this cute picture of her.
Pepper and me. Too bad Izzy was asleep at this time. That would have been a real cute picture with all three of us.
Pepper. She really loves the zoo. I guess we are going to need to go back, and this time take some pictures of the animals. (not just the monkeys)

Daddy's Saturday Morning

So, I have gone back to work, kinda.
I have started working on Saturdays for the animal clinic I used to work full time for before I had babies. I did miss working and I has been really good to get out of the house without a baby (or two) attached to my hip. The extra money has been nice too, as twins can be spendy. But the best part about me going back to work on Saturdays is . . .
Daddy's Saturday Morning!
Daddy gets to take care of the girls all morning (I only work a half day) and all by himself! They get to stay in PJ's and play and watch TV and eat snacks all morning. Sometimes they get unto things they shouldn't  . . .
But, (and this is the best part) daddy gets to take care of cleaning up the messes!

Sometimes they help daddy out with his computer stuff . . .
and daddy is the one to tell them that we don't eat our mouses for our computers.
I think we all look forward to Saturdays in our house. Mom gets to get out, dad gets to love on his girls, and they get to have him all to themselves. I can't wait until the next Daddy's Saturday Morning!
