6 Months Old

They really do growth up too fast.
When the girls were born 6 months seemed like forever away and now it is already here and pasted. I wish that I could slow down time sometimes. Even on my bad days I try to tell myself to enjoy this short time I have when they are babies because before I know it they are going to teenagers. I already feel like they are growing up too fast. They sit now; a little forward, but they can sit on their own and do much better about not falling over. They also have started laughing. I loved when that started. There is nothing more rewarding then having a laughing baby to play with. (unless you have two, then it is double the fun)

They are starting to really become their own little person each being so different and at the same time I find myself noticing things that they do that are the same. It is so much fun to see the things that set them apart and the things that they share. I get asked all the time if they are identical to which I tell people that they are. The next question I get is, how do you tell them apart. I aways what to say "the same way I can tell you apart from Lady Gaga. You are two different people". Sometimes I even feel like I'm lying to people when I say they are identical, because to me they look and act like two very different people. Because they are.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and was telling them that when I was pregnant with them I wondered how identical twins where possible with Heavenly Fathers plan. Because everyone is supposed to be special and I didn't think that two of the same person sounded right in that plan. Come to find out, that is exactly right. They are two very different spirits.

I mean, Izzy is one of those people who wants to learn, but not be taught. She is always watching the people around her. She looks at what mom is doing, wants to know here dad is, and can people watch for hours. She is not my big talker but I can tell she is always thinking, wondering about the things around her.

She lights up when you ask her a question and loves to play with anything new. She wants to learn about everything around her and she is headstrong and stubborn. When she wants to eat, she will and not a minute before! When we took these pictures I remember I tried everything to get a smile out of her and she was happy with just a blank face. She was not upset, but because she is so stubborn, she would smile when she wanted to. (Which was not now) I love her so much and can't wait to see that amazing mind of hers blow me away.

Pepper is my crazy girl. She is always talking, always eating, and always trying to do whatever mom and dad are doing. She can roll from one end of the room to the other and has started this little back crawling thing, where she arches her back and pushes herself around. It is funny to watch her try and get around that way, but it works for her. She loves to play with her toys and we sing all day sometimes. She loves the ABC song and she will make little sounds with me sometimes when I am singing to them.

Her new thing is the wipes container. She loves that thing and will play with it for an hour or two. She has turned into a little of a mommas girl and we have had a few days where "stranger danger" has been our cue to leave, but we also have been working with her and as long as we take our time and go slow she has gotten much better with being held by others. Oh, maybe I shouldn't love on her so much, but really I just can help it sometimes!

Six months. In a way it seems so long and so short. They have only been with me for six months and they are still my brand new little babies, but I can't even remember what life was like before they were here.

I have to say so far this has been my favorite age. I have had so much fun watching them start to become their own person. Some days are hard and sometimes I don't think that I'm gonna make it 5 more minutes, but then I get a smile or a giggle and it melts me every time. How lucky could I get to have these two beautiful little angles with me everyday. I am the luckiest mom in the world.

Izzy thinks so too.

I want Momma's food!

When Cory and I sit down for dinner we try to put the girls in their bumbos so they can be with us during dinner. They are so funny because they are always watching us eat and this night Pepper was making it very clear that she wanted my dinner! She was pumping back and forth in her seat, willing herself to get closer to my food, grunting as she went. Sometimes my day is full of the cutest things ever. I am so lucky to have these girls.

Kids These Days, and Their Phones

Why am I always catching my kids on their cell phones?

It is like they have nothing better to do.

I mean, I can't get them to even put them down for one second.

Kids these days!

Co-Sleeping

For the most part I try to let the girls sleep in the same crib together. They do much better during naps so at night they go into their own cribs. During the day however, I put them down together and they fall right to sleep. When they wake up it is always so cute to go into their room and hear them talking to each other and playing with one another.

I always get big smiles from them when they first see me.

And for the most part they don't snuggle. They like to be touching but that is all they need. Sometimes I catch them holding hands, and others one of them is touching the others leg or arm. It is so cute!

I just love all the fun things I get to do and see because the Lord blessed me with twins.

Temple Lights 2011

Yeah! I love the temple lights. I look forward to it every year and this year was the best because I had two little girls to go see it with. We went almost two to three time a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They loved it.

Grandpa Keith, Grandma Karla (in the back), Pepper, Izzy, Daddy

I could not get Izzy to look at me to safe my life. She only had eyes for those tinkle lights.

I can't remember what this face was for, but it makes me laugh every time.

Thanksgiving 2011

So for Thanksgiving this year we went over to my sister-in-law, Kacee's house and ate way too much food. You know like you are supposed to. Anyway, it really was a great time and the food was amazing. My family came too, so for the girls first Thanksgiving we had everyone there is was so nice. We ate outdoors, and had a bond fire, and Ken (Kacee's husband) made grilled turkey. My mouth is watering just remembering it. So it wasn't until we were on our way home that I noticed that I hadn't taken any pictures! I was suddenly sick. (insert curse word here) I'm still mad at myself for not remembering. Oh well, what can I do about it now?
The next day we had Thanksgiving for my dad's side of the family and for that one I was going to take some pictures!

Here is Grandpa and Izzy. They were just hanging out together.

So, at my Aunt's house they have goats which the girls really enjoyed watching. (Aunt Jordan is holding Pepper and Grandpa has Izzy)

What do you think of that goat, Izzy?

They also had dogs, horses, chickens (I think), and some other kind of large bird. The girls really like animals so they had so much to look at that I could not get them to look at the camera.

I'm starting to think that I took too many pictures to make up for the day before.

I just it is a good thing my girls are so cute, so there is no such thing as too many pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I tried to upload this video of the the girls watching the goats. I don't think it turned out the best, but there you go.
